Just south of Washington, D.C., National Harbor is a destination for conferences, restaurants, events, and nightlife. ElevateLIVE! will occupy the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, a large hotel and conference center on the shores of the Potomac River. National Harbor is the perfect location for staff from around the world to connect in one place.

Travel

  • All travel is being handled by the ElevateLIVE! Travel team centrally. Please do not book your own travel or hotel accommodations.

FAQs

Where is ElevateLIVE!?
The event will take place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center located eight miles south of Washington, D.C., at 201 Waterfront St., National Harbor, MD.
What are the event dates?
Tuesday, July 14 – Friday, July 17
Firmwide programming will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are reserved for department-specific programming and the schedules will vary by department.
Do all employees get to go?
Yes. ElevateLIVE! is a firmwide event and all benefits-eligible employees who have started at the firm by June 26, 2015, are expected to attend. New hires will not be permitted to start work between June 29 and July 17, 2015.
If I work part-time, should I still plan to attend?
Yes. All benefits-eligible employees who work at least 20 hours per week are expected to attend Tuesday and Wednesday and should work with their manager to determine their schedule for the remainder of the week.

What should I wear?
The attire is summer casual - think shorts and flip-flops.

When will the detailed schedule of events be available?
The agenda will be announced in May.
Will there be time for me to connect with friends and colleagues in different divisions?
Yes, collaboration and networking is a primary goal of ElevateLIVE! We want you to make new and lasting connections with your colleagues.
When and where will I work while at ElevateLIVE!?
The firm is closing for ElevateLIVE!, and we will centrally communicate our closure to members. More information will be shared closer to the event including direction on setting your Out of Office reply in Outlook and our coverage strategy for critical daily operations.
Will the event be streamed live?
No. This is an in-person event. Select presentations will be archived and made available for online viewing after ElevateLIVE!

Whom should I contact if I have special dietary needs or allergies?
Please indicate any dietary needs or allergies in your ElevateLIVE! profile.
We have taken all dietary needs into consideration when planning our Elevate LIVE! menus and buffets items will be clearly labeled to assist you as you prepare your plate. For special meal requests, please ask any hotel staffer for assistance or visit the designated table outside on The Boardwalk.
What is the weather like in D.C. in July?
Summers in D.C. can be very hot and humid. Check the weather and dress and/or pack accordingly.
Where can I find information about things to do in D.C.?
There are a number of sites to see throughout the D.C. area and we encourage you to explore the city. As the date nears, we will provide information on recommended sites and excursions. Please note the cost of optional site seeing activities will be at your own expense.
Are spouses or children invited to any of the event activities?
ElevateLIVE! events are limited to employees.
When should I plan to be in D.C.?
Plan to arrive on Monday, July 13 and depart on Friday, July 17 (or sooner depending on your department’s schedule). Formal programming will begin Tuesday morning. Thursday and/or Friday are reserved for department-specific programming and the schedules will vary.
When will I receive my final housing and travel itinerary?
Those who have registered before mid-June will receive their travel itinerary the week of June 22nd. All others will receive theirs in the following weeks. Please allow two weeks after registering to receive your customized itinerary.
Has transportation to and from the airport been provided for me?
REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT (DCA)
Arrivals: There will be continuous shuttle service between DCA and the Gaylord, Residence Inn and Sheraton hotels on Monday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Shuttles will depart DCA from the arrivals curb outside Terminal A and Terminal B/C.
Departures From the Gaylord: There will be continuous shuttle service from the Gaylord to DCA on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shuttles will depart from the Gaylord bus loop.
From the Office: There will be continuous shuttle service from the office to DCA on Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Shuttles will depart from the curb in front of the 2445 M Street building.
Employees traveling outside of the shuttle times should take a taxi or UberX.

BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BWI) We are not running airport shuttle service from BWI. Employees flying into and out of BWI should plan to take a taxi or UberX. Please save your receipts for expense reimbursement.

WASHINGTON DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (IAD) We are not running airport shuttle service from IAD. Employees flying into and out of IAD should plan to take a taxi or UberX. Please save your receipts for expense reimbursement.
I opted to take the shuttle to the Gaylord from the Metro – how will that work?
We are running morning and evening shuttle service between the Eisenhower Ave. Metro station and Gaylord at the following times:

Tuesday: 7-9:30 a.m. and 5-10:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 7-9:30 a.m. and 4-9:30 p.m.
Thursday: 7-9:30 a.m. and 4-10:30 p.m.
Friday: 7-9:30 a.m. and 12-1:30 p.m.

We recommend arriving at the Eisenhower Avenue shuttle stop no later than 8:30am on Tuesday and Wednesday to arrive on time for the General Sessions. In preparation of your arrival at the metro, please refer to the WMATA trip planner tool to estimate your arrival time based on your location.
How long is the travel time to and from the metro?
In preparation of your arrival, please refer to the WMATA trip planner tool to estimate your arrival time based on your location. We encourage riders to plan for extra cushion time to allow for heavy travel during rush hour. Once at Eisenhower Ave, a bus ride to the Gaylord will take about 15 minutes.

I’m driving – how do I get to the Gaylord and where do I park?
Enter your address here to identify the easiest route to the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. Upon arrival, there will be signs directing you to the self-park lot. If you indicated on your registration that you are driving, we will validate your daily parking at the Gaylord. Please park in the self-park lot of the hotel (not valet or any of the surrounding garages in the National Harbor) and receive daily validation from The Hub, our Information desk located outside the Maryland ballroom. You must use this validation to have your parking fees covered.

Drive Responsibly: We want everyone to have a fun and safe experience at ElevateLIVE! If you are planning to drink alcohol during Tuesday night’s HARBORFEST or at a department-sponsored event, please plan ahead to ensure you have a safe way to get home. We encourage you to carpool, designate drivers, or use the Metro.
I am coming into Union Station, how do I get to and from the Gaylord?
Employees arriving into Union Station should take a taxi or UberX to and from their hotel. You are encouraged to share a cab with other employees traveling at the same time. Please save your receipts, employees who elected for the ElevateLIVE! travel team to arrange their travel can submit this for expense reimbursement.
I have a team social event before/after the regular ElevateLIVE! schedule, how do I make sure I have transportation to/from the event?
Transportation to and from social events has been previously coordinated with team contacts. Any information regarding department events and any associated transportation will be communicated through them.
